The Battle for District 2

Stopping the Liberal Agenda & Defending Alabama Values

Patriots First Alabama thanks Hampton Harris for having the courage to step into a fight most politicians are too afraid to touch: stopping Alabama from handing Congressional District 2 back to the same liberal Democratic agenda that gave us Doug Jones and now operates through Washington surrogates like Shomari Figures.

Alabama has seen this movie before. The faces change, but the votes never do—against Alabama, against our values, and against President Donald Trump. This is not rhetoric. It is a matter of record.

The Doug Jones Sequel

Alabamians were promised moderation when Doug Jones ran for the U.S. Senate. What they received instead was a reliable vote for Chuck Schumer and the national Democratic agenda. That experiment failed badly.

Now Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District is watching the sequel play out with Shomari Figures. Figures has voted against Alabama and against President Trump at every meaningful opportunity.

He voted against President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill, opposing America First legislation designed to deliver economic relief and restore accountability. He voted to shut down the federal government, siding with Democratic leadership even when that decision threatened military pay, veterans’ services, and essential operations relied upon by Alabama families.

Detached from District 2

On moral and cultural issues, Figures has been equally out of step. He voted against the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, refusing to support basic protections for infants born alive after failed abortions. He voted against protecting women’s and girls’ sports, choosing radical gender ideology over fairness, safety, and common sense.

Just as troubling is Figures’ detachment from the district he claims to represent. He largely remains in Washington and limits appearances almost exclusively to Mobile, where his mother lives, while ignoring much of Montgomery, the Black Belt, and surrounding communities.

Alabama does not need another Doug Jones. It does not need another Washington-trained Democrat who campaigns locally and governs nationally. It needs leaders willing to fight for Alabama values without apology.
